Tiarasa Escapes |
Set within the Janda Baik rainforest; Tiarasa Escapes is a safari style glamping resort that offers a captivating and luxury camping experience amidst the exquisite views of nature. Spans over 7 acres of forested land, the resort features 20 luxurious safari-style tents for the glampers & 5 fairytale treehouses for those who really want to get close to nature; all are well-equipped with modern amenities and you won't be giving up any comfort here.
The Owner's Tent
We stayed in the family suite, White Rajah, also known as the Owner's Tent and it will be made available to the public if it is not occupied by the owner, Tiara Jacquelina. The Owner's Tent sits majestically on top of a little hill overlooking the whole glampsite; the view was magnificent, especially in the morning when the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. As we walked into the tent, it seems like we were transported into another world, a world with utmost luxury and comfort along with a Boho-enthic chic accents; it is so easy to fall in love with the interior decor. The tent villa consists of 2 spacious bedrooms and a large common lounge for 2 families; each bedroom was furnished with a deluxe king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom of classic colonial style with gorgeous freestanding bathtubs. The villa also comes with air-conditioning, beverage-making facilities, bathrobes, hairdryers and free WIFI; although the WIFI is a bit weak, we were totally fine because we preferred to connect with nature instead.

The Wading Pool
The lagoon-inspired wading pool is one of my favourite unwinding spots in Tiarasa Escapes; set in the middle of nature surrounded by nothing else but calmness. The pool was clean and well-maintained. It was a great place to spend a lazy afternoon with a book or purely relax by doing nothing.
Rasa In The Rainforest
An elegant dining space built by Escape Nomade, and this is the place where you can have your 3 meals plus tea break during your stay. On their menu are mainly local and western favourites, and some unique traditional dishes using Tiara's personal kitchen recipes. My favourite dish was their Nasi Lemak, a packet of Malaysian coconut fragrant rice, served with sambal chili, roast peanuts, fried anchovies and egg. I really like how they add value to their national dish by wrapping it beautifully with tropical leaf graphic print paper. This simple yet delicious dish is only served during breakfast, therefore if you plan to skip your breakfast, think twice! Another dish that you should try is their signature Nasi Ulam, a traditional Malay dish of rice mixed with various fresh herbs and spices, and served with Ayam Merah (Chicken cooked in red sauce); it tasted just as good as it looks, aromatic, appetising and delicious. One dish that you shouldn't miss is their Sarawak Laksa. I know we are not in Sarawak, but it is not wrong to have a bowl of Tiara's Sarawak Laksa; it is a noodle dish that looks like curry laksa but slightly subtler in its soup base and it is consists of rice vermicelli, omelette strips, shredded chicken, beansprouts, prawns, fresh coriander and lime. I'm very sure that this is a comforting dish away from your home.

A ceremonial lighting of the communal bonfire will take place every day at sunset on the outdoor amphitheatre lawn. A glorious fire is always the main highlight of any camping ground, hence you should gather your loved ones to end the day by exchanging stories and laughter for a fire-crackling experience.
5. Stargazing
Stargazing is a magical and awe-inspiring activity that can connect you with the beauty and wonder of the night sky. This activity was curated by none other than Dato Mazlan Othman, an international renown astrophysicist who created an astronaut programme for Malaysia.
