SriLanta Resort: A Resplendence Stay (Thailand)

Our trip always involves traveling from city to city, town to town and changing of hotels every one to three nights; it was fun with lots of excitement but it can be quite hectic at times. Hence, for this year Lunar New Year retreat, we decided to go for a resort holiday and have a more relaxed trip. When we planned our retreat, the first country that came to our mind was Thailand. Why Thailand? It was because Thailand is a beautiful country with no shortage of beautiful beaches and also I love Pad Thai and K.K. doesn't mind eating more Mango Sticky Rice.

Initially, we wanted to settle with the popular destinations like Phuket or Krabi, but afraid that they were too crowded, so after further research, and we found SriLanta, a resort which is ideally situated on an uncrowded island of Ko Lanta.

SriLanta is a boutique resort located on a tranquil sandy beach on the west coast of Ko Lanta. The iconic rustic villas and the rooms of the resort are built on the hillside covered by the lush tropical vegetation and beautifully set in harmony with the natural surroundings. And all the shared amenities like the lounge, spa, restaurant, yoga deck, swimming pools are all located right on the beachfront with an endless view of the Andaman Sea. In total we stayed 4 nights at SriLanta and indulged ourselves in this piece of tropical paradise that filled with a calm and relax atmosphere.

The Villa With An Outdoor Bathtub
SriLanta has a good range of villas and rooms for selection but we chose the Star Path Villa (V.I.III.) because it comes with a veranda and include a gazebo and open-air bathtub with jungle views. The room features a double bed and other facilities like hot/cold shower, air-conditioning, minibar, telephone, cable TV and a safe. The straw-thatched villa is built at a high point on the hillside with natural wooden floors and woven coconut leaves walls. And the room has an Eco-friendly interior that comes with a rustic Thai living style and natural furnishings.

Resort Food & Services
SriLanta has an in-house restaurant, which serves traditional Thai and international cuisine. The Thai food that we ordered was quite decent but we didn't crave for more; and also a complimentary buffet breakfast was provided daily. For dinner, if you don't mind walking, there is an authentic Thai restaurant, Kuk Kai, which serves really good Thai dishes and it is just 5 mins walk away. The maids did a good job of ensuring our villa was clean and tidy on a daily basis. And most of the SriLanta's staffs were quite friendly and helpful. The only one incident that let us down was, we hired a SriLanta's driver for a day from 9am to 5pm to bring us around Ko Lanta; at around 4pm we requested for one more location, but the driver turned us down and said he had already brought us to many locations. The fact was he brought us to a few places that we didn't request, like elephant trekking and mangrove forest; as a result, time and effort wasted. Anyway, we take this as a one-off incident because on our very first day to SriLanta, there was this particular driver who drove us from the airport; he was very nice and friendly, and he even treated us some ice cream while we were on the car ferry.
